It seems I can’t ‘like’ comments anymore. I’ve even tried disabling both Adblock and ‘Enhanced Tracking Protection’, and it’s still not working.
A popup appears briefly (I have popups set to ‘allowed’), disappears, and the ‘star’ slowly fades to transparent… And then nothing else happens. I see some comments still getting labeled with ‘Liked by 1 person’ appearing, but I can’t figure out how to do that anymore myself. It did used to work, and I’m clearly logged in (given that I’m able to comment).
Maybe it’s the browser I use? I use Firefox on Linux, but it really did used to work. Unless Firefox changed something about its security model or JavaScript execution model? Or you upgraded something within WordPress that broke it for Firefox users?
I will say that I first noticed this a few weeks ago, back in late 2022. I don’t remember exactly when, but it had to have been either in November or December some time.
I actually figured it out, and found out that WordPress is about the dumbest website when it comes to authentication. Have to separately log into both wordpress.com, and dashboard.wordpress.com, separately.
I’ve been unable to like anything here for at least a year and have tried logging off and on numerous times, deleting cookies clearing my cache etc. I think it’s a glitch in the wordpress coding.
Gah, I need to double-check my links, I had started reading the comic from the intended page to see if there were other pages worth linking to, and forgot to click ‘back’ a couple times to the page I meant to link to.
